Catalogue Note: Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Otto Henry Bacher (1856-1909) went on to study at some of the most acclaimed institutions in Europe with some of the most important artists of the era. Included in this list are The Royal Academy in Munich, the Academie Julian in Paris, Frank Duveneck (American, 1848-1919) in Florence, and James Abbot McNeill Whistler (American, 1834-1903) in Venice.
