Description
NAT LOWELL (LATVIAN/AMERICAN, 1880-1956) THE CATHEDRAL OF ST. JOHN THE DIVINE PRINT, drypoint on paper, titled in pencil, signed and dated "N Lowell 1925". Matted and housed under glass in an old molded-oak frame, retaining old label for Bernstein's Art Gallery, New York, NY verso. Together with an Andrew Fairbain Affleck (British, 1874-1935) street scene etching, signed with initials in plate and pencil signed in margin lower right; and a Preston Gibb etching titled "Canterbury Gate, Cathedral" and signed in lower margin; both matted and housed under glass in modern frames. Three pieces total. Circa 1925. Lowell example (largest) 14 3/4" x 10 3/4" plate, 25 5/8" x 19 3/4" OA.
Prints with minor to moderate toning and foxing/discoloration throughout. Each with moderate to heavy areas of discoloration to matte. Frames with wear. Not examined out of frames.
