MEXICAN POLYCHROME WOOD JAGUAR DANCE MASK W/ BOAR TUSKS: Mexico, 20th c., colorful polychrome lacquer mask in yellow, black and red with applied boar tusks and bristles, 14"h x 12"w x 7"d. The Jaguar Mask is used in dances throughout the Mexican states of Guerrero, Oaxaca, Puebla, Chiapas and Tabasco. The dance can represent the safety of the community as well as maintaining the balance of the natural world.
