Condition
Signed back of feet. Possible date. Chips to the stone base around where the wood is attached. Information from the Christie's catalogue: "According to the artist's son, the present carving was one of six mahogany examples which were mechanically roughed out and then hand-finished by the artist. It is based on a slightly larger spruce-wood example carved in 1923 while the sculptor was camping in Yosemite National Park which is no longer extant.
