BAL FANTASTIQUE, 1957, Waldorf-Astoria Hotel; SPRING FANTASIA, 1953, Hotel Astor; SPRING FANTASIA, 1954, Hotel Astor; two BAL FANTASTIQUE, 1956, Hotel Sheraton-Astor, stamped 148 & 941, A collection of five first edition color lithograph books with plastic binding made for Artists Equity Fund, Inc., artists include: Chaim Gross, John Groth, Eichenberg, William Sutherland, Lily Harmon, Moses Soyer, Raphael Soyer, Marcel Vertes, Adolf Dehn, Louise Nevelson, Ben Shahn, Sol Wilson, Jack Levine, Reginald Marsh and many more; Covers with some wear and some toning, otherwise in good used condition. Note: these volumes are a series of original lithograph advertisements, begun by the Artists Equity Fund in 1950 as a source of fundraising to accompany their Spring Fantasia Masquerade Balls held at various New York hotels. Well-known artists of the day were chosen by the advertisers and commissioned to produce illustrated ads directly onto lithograph plate, the final results printed in a limited run of 2000; Together with Verve Quarterly, 1938, Volume 1, No. 3, Oct- Dec., with color lithographs of the Indian Pantheon, (lacking The Four Seasons lithographs by Chagall, Miro, Rattner and Klee), printed by Mourlot, text in English and French; Together with six volumes of Avant Garde Magazine, 1969 (2), 1970 (3), 1971, artists featured include Picasso, John Lennon, Alwyn Scott Turner and others, covers by Lennon, Ernest Fuchs, all with some toning and browning of paper; otherwise all in good used condition.
