Description
1922 "No D" Lincoln Wheat Cent XF40 in Plastic Slab 10% BP - This amazing coin is a 1922 Lincoln Wheat Cent, in the "No D" variety. The Denver Mint was the only mint to produce cents in 1922, and as such all 1922 cents should bear the "D" mint mark. The mint was under extreme pressure to produce cents for that year, resulting in some sloppiness in the production process, and the "No D" cents. The 1922 "no D" Lincoln cent is the only circulation strike coin in the entire Lincoln cent series that lacks it's intended mint mark. This date ranks in desirability with the famed 1909-S VDB penny, and has always been recognized as a major variety within the series. Due to its rarity and popularity, this coin has always landed hefty premiums. Uncirculated examples of this coin sell for tens of thousands, and this coin is a great chance to acquire a great rarity. Mintage: 7,160,000. PLEASE NOTE: The buyer's premium will be reduced to 10% for this lot only.
