1976 Bicentennial Thirteen Colony Colonial Currency Type Set in Sterling Silver Presentation “Franklin Mint” Display
(1976) Complete 13 Colony Set of Colonial Currency in Sterling Silver, Franklin Mint Issue, in it’s original Custom Wooden Presentation Display Case, Gem Mint State.
This historic, complete Colonial Currency Type Set was issued in celebration of America’s Bicentennial by the Franklin Mint in 1976. Modeled after actual existing notes and engraved in exceptionally qualified detail, this set includes a 1734 large size New Hampshire issue, among other various colonial emissions from the colonies of the period. Each note is placed in a felt lined display case with a plastic covering to protect the surface of each note, giving it a Proof type appearance. The professional wooden box display case has a plexiglass face on the cover, so as to most appropriately display the notes residing below. These sets have become nearly impossible to locate over the past few decades and we are very pleased to be able to offer one in such pristine original condition more than two decades after its original issue. The last time we offered one of these lovely sets was way back in 2003, and this is that very set, selling way back then for $998.
