Description

Muriel Hudson (1887 - 1959) pastel of a California countryside scene. Signed lower right. Image size: 3.75 x 3.75 inches. Hudson initially lived in Santa Barbara where she studied printmaking with Frank Morley Fletcher. Her work includes both oils and wood-block prints in the Japanese style espoused by Fletcher. By the early 1930s she had moved north to Sausalito where she was active until at least 1940. Member: San Diego Art Guild; Marin AA. Exh: San Diego FA Gallery, 1927; Society for Sanity in Art, California Palace of the Legion of Honor, 1940. Works held in public places: CHS; Smithsonian Inst.; Rockport (MA) Historical Museum
