Description
We are proud to present this lovely hand painted & full sized, pre 1921 7.5" x 7" tall teapot with a handsome gilded crown finial. Our example carries the prime Joan Van Patten mark #52, the Hand painted Maple Leaf Nippon, proper small stamp, first used in 1891. This teapot, has the features of a ca. 1910-1916 finish, including the light pink tea rose medallions over an Ivory ground, augmented with rich deep forest green and copious florals & gilded beading. The most compelling date criteria, is to note the sculpted depth of the medallion borders, and the thick gilt application. Our Nippon antique is in great condition
