[6] leaves of text printed on rectos only, + 12 original silver photographs mounted on thick leaves with printed captions - the photographic images measure 8x7 cm. The booklet is 12.3x16.3 cm. (4¾x6½"), wrappers printed in gold lettering, string ties.

Scarce booklet notable for the original photograph illustrations. ?G. L. Rose had his studio in Pasadena. He photographed the Southwest during several journeys with George Wharton James. OCLC/WorldCat lists one work with the same title, at the Huntington Library, of seven unnumbered leaves, and while noting illustrations makes no mention of the original mounted photographs.

Condition

Just a little rubbing to wrapper edges; very good or better.
