STS-42. STS - 42 was a Space Shuttle Discovery mission with the Spacelab module. The mission launched on January 22, 1992. The main goal of the mission was to study the effects of microgravity on a variety of organisms. The shuttle landed on January 20th, 1992. The seven astronaut International crew consisted of Commander John Grabe (1945- ), Pilot Steven Oswald (1951- ) and Mission Specialists Norm Thagard (1943- ), Bill Readdy (1952- ), David Hilmers (1950- ), Canadian Roberta Bondar (1945- ) and German Ulf Merbold (1941- ). 10” x 8” color photograph of Discovery on the launch pad signed by all seven. There is slight smearing to the signatures of Merbold, Readdy and Hilmers.
