TUPAC SHAKUR'S NEW YORK PRISONER IDENTIFICATION CARD
Plastic laminated identification card, 3 1/4" x 2 1/4", originally issued by the State of New York Department of Correctional Services to Shakur on March 8, 1995, and corrected to show that it is a replacement issued Aug. 2. The card includes a headshot of Shakur in his green prison jumpsuit, and lists his name, inmate number, date of birth, height, weight, and the color of his eyes and hair. The card also bears Shakur's facsimile signature, with the warning "Inmate I.D. - To Be Kept on Person at All Times" printed on the verso. Tupac was shot on November 30, 1994 and on Feb. 7, 1995 he was sentenced to one to four years at the Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, New York. He was released after nine months, and signed by Death Row Records. In return, Shakur agreed to release three albums through Death Row, of which only one, "All Eyez on Me", was released before his murder. The lamination is peeling at the corners, else very good. An excellent, unique Shakur relic. Consigned by an intimate friend and relative of Tupac Shakur who was also personally mentored by the great rapper. The consignor remains very active in the music and film industry. His signed and notarized letter of provenance accompanies this item.
