BO DIDDLEY
(1928 - 2008) American R&B singer, guitarist, songwriter and music producer who played a key role in the transition from the blues to rock and roll, and influenced artists including Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Yardbirds, Jimi Hendrix and Parliament-Funkadelic. Signed contract, 8 1/2" x 11", [Howard Theater, Washington, DC], Feb. 8, 1967, a contract for Diddley and his band to perform a maximum of 31 shows between Mar. 24-30 for the sum of $3,500. Signed in red ink at bottom. On the verso, the band's manager had written the names and social security numbers of band members Connie Redmond, Clifton James, Chester Lindsey and others, and also lists advances paid to them. Very good.
