IDENTIFIED BLACK SPANISH-AMERICAN WAR SOLDIER
A fine standing image 6 1/2" x 5 1/2", identified on verso as Lieut. A. A. Moore of Company D, 9th Ohio Vols. in camp. The 9th Ohio was the only all-black unit from that state, and the only black unit to fight during the Spanish-American War. Moore poses before his tent with sword at side. With decorative blind-embossed mat, light foxing thereon else very good.
