Description

A New Haven Railroad named train gate sign for the "Day Cape Codder". This is not a typical commuter run gate sign. It measures 66" by 24 1/2". This sign was used in South Station in Boston. Note the connections with boats for the islands and bus service to Chatham & Provincetown. The only stop before the Bourne Bridge was Taunton. There was a split after the Bourne lift bridge because it went to both Hyannis and Woods Hole. The back on one edge has the interesting service dates of June 22 to September 7. This probably narrows down the date to bus service and June 22 of some year as a Saturday and a 9:20 departure time. Condition is great with the original metal rod and no damage to the end loops.
