Louis XVI style gilt bronze mounted commode à vantaux, early 20th century, the shaped white marble top with cup corners above three frieze drawers with panels of foliate scrollwork framing a lion's head drawer pull, surmounting two doors decorated with a demi-lune panel of applied gilt bronze acanthus scrollwork above a circular gilt bronze plaque in the manner of Clodion, framed by corresponding acanthus spandrels, the sides similarly embellished, the doors opening to six drawers, above the apron having a tied ribbon swag running frieze, the whole raised on toupie feet with gilt bronze palmette sabots, 37.5"h x 70"w x 27"d.
