WATERFORD CRYSTAL PROTOTYPE AGATE CENTER BOWL: 21st c, Waterford Crystal Agate centerpiece bowl from the Evolution line, this is likely a prototype design which did not go into production exactly as shown, 7.75"h x 9.5"d, no visible signatures. The Agate line is inspired by nature and has a cased design with an earthy brown swirl surrounded by organically swirled green/blue glass. HISTORY OF THE EVOLUTION LINE BY WATERFORD CRYSTAL: The Evolution Line by Waterford Crystal is the Company’s first collection of colored glass since its founding in 1783 by the brothers William and George Penrose in the Irish city of Waterford. Each piece in this line is made by hand and is an individual work of collectible Art Glass. Because of the complex colors, combinations and finishes, pieces can require up to three separate firings in the glass kiln. We have had the privilege of offering this line for several years and It is with bittersweet notes that we share that we have been informed that the Waterford Evolution line is being discontinued because the quality and craftsmanship create a product which the price cannot support. Therefore, this is one of the last opportunities buyers have to obtain these premier pieces in new condition and housed in branded presentation boxes.
