Description

A nice pair of antique Art Nouveau Desk or Vanity tray. The larger would have been used for Pens and the smaller for accessories. Both have an excellent Art Nouveau design and were made by WMF. The trays are hallmarked "B, I/O, OX" and the have an Ostrich Logo. The letter "B" represents Britannia metal, The fraction "I/0" means the normal thickness of silver deposited onto the surface of the base metal the "OX" is oxidized silver referring to the finish and this Ostrich mark was introduced in 1910 for the internal market and was used until 1920. The Pen Tray measures 10 1/8" x 2 5/8" and the smaller tray is 5 1/2" x 2 1/4". Both are presentation pieces with a monogram, see photos. The Art Nouveau Trays are both in good overall condition with no chips or cracks in the metal. The only thing to note are small bends on the edges. The set would be perfect on a desk, vanity or counter top, both are being offered for one price.
