DESCRIPTION: A bronze Neo-Classical style ewer. The gilded bronze base is embellished with embossed grape clusters and winding vines. The bottom of the body features a brown bronze foundation with superimposed gilded bronze foliage and acanthus leaves. Center of the body is garnished with a parade of cherubs playing trumpets while riding on goats, and tigers pulling a chariot with a Greco-Roman Bacchanalian goddess being fed grapes by a soaring cherub. The top of the body and the spout are finished with embossed grape luster motif and acanthus leaves. Finished with an tall arching handle with a ram's head along the bottom tapering to a tree branch motif garnished with a seated cherub along the top.
