Description
Continental, late 20th century. A pair of Neoclassical style gilt metal andirons, each having a fluted columnar form topped by a spherical finial, with claw and ball feet. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 34.75", width 16", depth 27.5". Provenance: From the Private Collection of Susan E. Yeomans of S. Battery, Charleston, South Carolina (a descendant of former Governor of South Carolina Ibra C. Blackwood and his wife, Margaret Hodges; former President of the United States of America, Grover Cleveland; and former Governor of South Carolina, Carroll Ashmore Campbell Jr.).
