Description
French, circa 1830s. An Empire period bronze pocket watch holder modeled as a trophy with berried laurel leaf wreath and shield shaped holder with draping arrows centered with opposing eagle head cartouche inscribed "27 28 29 JUILLET 1830", mounted on a rectangular shaped plinth base. Approximate height 7.12", width 8.37", depth 3.12".
Condition
Overall with surface grime. Figural finials likely later, and articulating slightly. Scattered oxidation and adhesive residue to base. Bolts to underside likely replaced. No other loss or damage noted.
