Description
A pair of beautifully silver inlaid bronze belt hooks, Warring States to Han Dynasty, c. 3rd - 2nd Century BC, each long and slender with upward curve, the hooks at the end with terminal in the form of a duck's head. The upper portion of each hook is wonderfully decorated with inlaid silver in geometric and floral patterns, the bright silver contrasting wonderfully with the brown patina. Both about 6 in (15.2 cm) in length and amazing examples of ancient Chinese metalwork. Ex Southern California estate, acquired mid-20th Century.
