Description
A pair of Mesopotamian carved calcite objects. The first is a pale green calcite stamp seal, Jemdat Nasr, c. 3200 - 2800 BC, in the form of a recumbent bull, the head nicely detailed and the backside with two drilled stylized animals. 18 x 13mm. The second is a green calcite amulet of a lion, Mesopotamia, 3rd Millennium BC, of stylized form with good color and vertical suspension bore through the center of the body. L: 15mm. Ex New Jersey private collection.
