Brian Wilson Signed "God Only Knows" Art Show Poster (1990). Autographed and inscribed in black felt pen by both the enigmatic Brian Wilson and Doonesbury cartoonist Garry Trudeau, this is a poster from the "God Only Knows" AIDS benefit/art show, which paid tribute to one of Trudeau's characters, Andy Lippincott. Lippincott was one of the first fictional characters in popular media to succumb to AIDS, and the art show, held at the Braunstein/Quay Gallery in San Francisco, helped bring awareness to the debilitating disease. Here Wilson inscribed "To Alexandria - You Were a Great Collaborator/ Brian Wilson", while Trudeau writes "To Alexandria - Good Luck with Smart Girls". The "Alexandria" to which the two sign is Alexandria Lansby, who with Brian Wilson co-wrote the song "Smart Girls," from his unreleased Sweet Insanity album. Lansby obtained the signatures at the art show. Mounted to board measuring an approximate 27" x 18.25", and in Fine condition, with a ding to the upper-right corner.
