Description

Item: Civil War Era Old Vintage 34 Star United States American Flag Pin Cushion. Exceptional "Great Star" pattern in the canton of the silk flag. The woven composition of the flag is similar to that of a stevensgraph or ribbon. Hand constructed pincushion has a blue silk backing and decorative blue cord embellishment. The stuffing is possibly sawdust or emery. It is important to note the expertly done, fine hand stitches.

Date: Circa 1861

Dimensions: Approximate size is 3-3/4" x 2-3/4" x 1-1/2" (thick).
