WILLIAM RANDOLPH “COZY” COLE (1909-1981). American Jazz Drummer.
c. 1951, Exceptional Vintage Black & White Photograph Signed “Cozy Cole,” 8” x 10”, Choice Extremely Fine. Outstanding image of the handsome drummer wearing a pinstripe double-breasted suit and holding a pair of drumsticks in hand. Inscribed on the image to MGM studio hairdresser June Roberts: “To June, The best of everything always. Sincerely, Cozy Cole.” This wonderful publicity photo was likely released in conjunction with his uncredited role opposite Louis Armstrong, Jack Teagarden and Earl “Fatha” Hines in the MGM motion picture The Strip.
