Patent Aplanatic Landscape Lens by A. Grubb, c. 1855
No. 509, different from the later version, where the inner tube could be pulled out ready for use. Attachment for washer stops, approx. 30 cm focal length, front element approx. Ø 62 mm (2 1/3 in.), height 3 1/3 in., complete with connecting ring Ø 4 1/3 in. A rare lens! – A. Grubb (1801–1878) from the environs of Dublin was an important practical theorist who did not earn the recognition that he deserved.
