Description
Cinema - Large section of carpet from The Embassy Chesham, restaraunt. The Embassy was part of the Shipman & King chain of cinemas which opened in January 1937, architect David Nye, demolished in 1983. As with all cinema chains each had their own distinctive carpet, this carpet was designed in 1932 by Wilton Carpets, design name 'The Balka'. It came with two designs, this one being for large areas, the other had black edging & was used for stairs & gangways, 54 inches
