Central Asia, Bactrian Empire, ca. early 1st millennium BCE. A lovely necklace comprised of dozens of hand-carved and biconically drilled, tubular and circular blackstone beads, many with beautiful white and pale green inclusions making for a mottled effect, 14 round translucent rock crystal beads, several nicely faceted, all arranged in an attractive symmetrical design with a sweet bell-shaped black glass pendant and gold-tone modern clasp. A lovely and wearable piece of ancient art! Size: 22" L (55.9 cm); bell pendant bead measures .625" L x .5" W (1.6 cm x 1.3 cm)
