Description
Bronze drum made especially for Purim, decorated with embossing work, Biblical, traditional symbols of Egypt. The pyramids and classic Egyptian figures. Pasuk about Purim written in large letters. Signature of the artist Shlomo Khadida Levi, 1928. Seemingly used according to the tradition in Egypt to celebrate Purim with mishluchei manot given with drumming and dancing. Height: 28cm, the drumming place has diameter of 21.5 and the top has diameter of 12.5cm. The flap of leather from the place of the drumming was stretched there later. Generally very good condition. Origin in a private collection.
