Description

Unusual French Renaissance Style Carved Walnut Ormolu Mounted Wall Clock, c. 1880, time and strike, the arched ormolu mounted crest with garland decoration, over a stepped crown above a steel and brass engraved face, flanked by ormolu mounted engaged columns, over an ormolu mounted frieze above large applied bracket supports flanking a pierced spindled bottom panel, matching previous lot, H.- 42 in., W.- 23 in., D.- 9 in.

Condition

Condition consistent with age. Two 1 inch pieces of trim lacking from the top of the arch in the crown. Another 2 inch piece of trim lacking from the top of the right column. Dirt accretion in the crevices, especially along the back edges. The carved bottom panel detached but present. A 1 inch chip in the left corner of the crown. Several small scratches and dents along the crown. An intriguing piece. ALL PROPERTY IS SOLD "AS IS."
