Description
Two French Pieces, 19th c., consisting of a Gothic open shelf on carved supports to a lower stepped shelf; and a narrow carved mahogany open bookshelf with engaged rope twist columns, on turned feet, Bookshelf- H. 60 1/8 in., W.- 20 7/8 in., D.- 12 1/2 in.
Condition
Condition consistent with age. Bookshelf- Slight warp to the left side. Shelves stick and do not sit level on the brackets. An approximate 12 inch crack on the upper right side. Rippling veneer on the bottom edge. A 4 inch crack on the bottom left. Open Shelf- Four pea-size white spots, a 1 inch black streak, and a 4 inch thin black streak on the top. A 5 inch slight discoloration on the interior. A 4 inch chip on the left side. Two intriguing pieces.
