John F. Kennedy. Why England Slept. New York: Wilfred Funk, 1940. First edition, second printing, inscribed by the author, "with warmest regards," and signed by the author as Jack Kennedy. Octavo. [2, blank], xxx, 252, [4, blank] pages. Publisher's red cloth, front board stamped in dark blue and white with central lion motif, spine stamped in dark blue and white, top edge green, in original dust jacket. Boards and board edges lightly rubbed, rear board a touch soiled, corners a bit bumped. Text block edges modestly toned, light offsetting from binder's glue on endpapers. Dust jacket somewhat rubbed, foxed, and soiled (often found just on verso); spine panel slightly sun-faded; edges a bit worn with some chipping. A very good copy. Housed in a custom clamshell case.
