Regency Mahogany Linen Press, early 19th century, the molded cornice above a drop finial-applied frieze, over a case fitted with two doors, each inset with an oval panel, the lower section fitted with three graduated long drawers, raised on bracket feet, h. 86-1/2", w. 50", d. 24".

In good "as found" condition. The piece has been polished and restored in the past. It now exhibits some minor blemishes, dings and abrasions consistent with moderate use since then. The interior of the upper section has been fitted to accommodate a television with inserted shelving and a hole cut in the back. The hole is approximately 2-1/2 by 3-1/4". One of the upper door panels is warped such that it no longer fits properly in the door frame. The other panel exhibits more minor warping. The molding at the top of the base where surrounding the upper section exhibits several splinter losses to its topmost edge. Drawers slide freely. Locks are present; keys are not.
