Italian Walnut and Marble-Top Commode, late 18th century, in the rococo taste, the slightly bowed charcoal marble top above a conforming case fitted with two long drawers, each tri-paneled, raised on molded splayed legs, h. 38-1/2", w. 48", d. 22-1/2".

In overall very good condition. The stained and waxed surface exhibits normal minor mars, wear and indications of age and use. There are a few tiny flakes to the outer lower edge of the marble top. Drawer hardware is replaced. The lower drawer does not fully close on one side, remaining about 3/8" from being flush. There is a protruding nail head, and splinter to the rear bottom corner of the drawer back board that may be preventing it from closing to flush.
