Louis XIII-Style Fruitwood Fauteuil a la Reine, 18th century, the tall padded back joined by downswept arms to the padded seat, raised on turned and block legs joined by a like H-form stretcher and ending in ball feet, h. 48".
Condition
In overall good condition. The piece exhibits normal wear, shrinkage and past restorations. The upholstery exhibits some past repairs and is worn at places but appears quite serviceable. The rear of the chair back is done in a complimentary fabric that is worn very thin/slightly threadbare along its top edge, presumably where it rubbed a wall. Three of the legs exhibit splices at their bottoms, presumably to compensate for heavy wear. The legs exhibit some indications of worm damage. It is not severe, and appears to have been arrested. Seat height: 17-1/2". Seat width between arm supports: 21-1/2". Seat depth to front of back: 20-3/4".
