A set of very rare original conceptual artwork from the 1968 Star Trek novelization "Mission to Horatius". Mission to Horatius was the first original novel based on the Star Trek series, and details the adventures of the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise investigating where a distress signal had originated, resulting in them engaging with several different human colonies. This set includes two sets of original manuscripts featuring early outlines for the novel with attached correspondence, each featuring spelling and grammar corrections and hand written notations. A set of four original art board with hand drawn blue line ink and black ink images to be featured in the original copy of the novel, a original hand drawn and painted piece of artwork for the final cover design of the novel, and a folded piece of art board with a hand drawn copy of the Enterprise outlined in black that was to be the insert pages for the novel. Each of these items show the conception of the novel in it's entirety, and are a rare glimpse into the history of Star Trek, and the novel Mission to Horatius by Mack Reynolds. Included is an original first print of the novel.
