Description
Three silk purses from the 19th century. Includes: two round, pill form purses and one square folding purse. The square purse has a bright geometric pattern with flowers embroidered on two panels. The rest of the purse is a blue silk ground. One of the oblong round purses also has a bold embroidered pattern on one side featuring Buddhist symbols and lotus flowers. The opposite side has shou characters in hexagonal patterns. It has a wrist cord. The last purse, also oblong and round has a pastel embroidered pattern of flowers on both sides. It has two cords on either end.
Dimensions for the square purse are 3 1/4 inches wide by 3 3/8 inches high. The round purses are 2 7/8 inches wide by 6 inches high. All measurements are approximate.
