I.M.R. Third District ... Map Showing Overflow from Backwater May, 1904.. CORPS OF ENGINEERS, LUCAS, E.W. VAN C. /R. C. FENTON, 1904, Folio - 18.75 H x 13.00 W Inches, "Capt. E.W. Van C. Lucas, Corps of Eng'rs., U.S.A. in charge. To accompany Annual Report from fiscal year ending June 30-1904." Shaded areas for flooding in 1898 and 1904. Shows roads, and many railroads with numerous placenames that no longer exist on maps. Still in cludes “Choctaw Boundary”.

The major flooding took place west of Vicksburg. On either side of the first big bend in the Yazoo River in Yazoo county lie two lakes: one shaped like a “U” , the next like an “S”. Full of interesting detail. Fine.
