AGA KHAN III: (1877-1957) Sultan Sir Mohammed Shah. Imam of the Nizari branch of the Ismaili sect from 1885, a prominent leader of the Muslim communities in India. Brief L.S., Aga Khan, one page, 8vo (a portion of the base of the page neatly removed, seemingly without any loss of text), Villa Jane-Andree, Antibes, 3rd April 1940, to John Howarth. The text, in the hand of a secretary, simply states 'I am very glad to send you my autograph'. Accompanied by the front panel of the original envelope addressed to John Howarth in the hand of the same secretary although also signed ('From Aga Khan') by the Aga Khan to the lower left corner.
