Ivan Morozov Imperial Russian Solid 14K Gold/88 Silver Case W/Cabochon Sapphire Button Made in St. Petersburg - This piece is made of solid Russian 88 silver, and was made by workmaster Ivan Morozov. The piece is believed to have been made between 1908 to 1917, in St. Petersburg. The case has a hammered motif throughout the exterior of the piece, and is finished with a cabochon sapphire button, set in 14k yellow gold. The interior of the case has a gold washed finish. This case bears the mark of Ivan Morozov with the imperial warrant, the silver workmaster's mark of "I.P." in Cyrillic, and the silver standard for 1908-1917. The piece was reassayed in 1927-1928, and bears the "875" mark for silver as well. This piece is in excellent condition, and has a strong hinge. There are no marks, damage or repairs, and no signs of usage on the gilt interior. Dimensions: 3.85" length x 2.6" width x 0.63" depth. (154 grams)
