Taino Seated Anthropoid Cohoba Inhaler. Inhalers were used to ingest the hallucinogenic drug cohoba. Thick symbolic bands around ankles. The feet are the snuffing channels connecting to the central tube, quite a technical achievement using a bow drill. Dating c. 1000-1500 AD. Made of fossil coral. Size: 4'' x 2'' x 2'' (10 x 5 x 5 cm). Provenance: Larry Roberts, author of Taino Sculpture: Art of the Gods.
