A collection of more than 70 published pieces of sheet music dating from the 1890s through the 1920s. The majority of the pieces (31) derive from the mid 1910s and the WWI era. Titles from 1890 to 1909 include "Il Trovatore" by E. Dorn (Op. 39 No 3); "Maudi" (Geirge M. Cohan) "She Looks Cute in Her Bathing Suite" (Richard Bache), and more. Titles from the 1910s and WWI include 4 by Irving Berlin ("You'd Be Surprised," "They Were All Out Of Step But Jim," "When the Black Sheep Returns to the Fold," "The International Rag"); Menuet by Paderewski (Op. 14 No 1); "The Man Behind the Hammer and the Plow by JHarry Von Tilzer (with Proclamation by President Wilson dated April 16, 1917); and "Good Night; Germany" (Music by George W. Meyer). Titles from the 1920s include three from Kern and Hammerstein and the musical Show Boat ("Can't Help Lovin' Dat Man," "You Are Love," and "Why Do I Love You?") and many more.
Artwork on the covers of the sheet music is also a sample of changing fashion and graphic styles from 1890 through the 1920s. There us a degree of differential paper preservatio. Most are in good condition and in individual protective plastic sleeves.
