Description
This is an exceptional Navajo Native American Indian wool trade rug with a wonderful Wide Ruins Pattern by master weaver, Jennie Thomas. The piece is from the mid 20th century and shows a very tightly woven wool construction with pigment dyed rich pastel coloring. Jennie Thomas is considered one of the premier master weavers of the 20th century. Her work has been categorized as extremely finely woven and of incredible detail, with this piece being a wonderful example of the same. The rug shows little to no wear and displays very well. Previously sold representations of her works have been placed in the $10,000 to $20,000 range. Currently one of her examples is offered for sale by Cultural Patina for $12,500.
