HANS WEGNER (Danish 1914-2007) A PAIR OF "CH22" OAK AND PAPER CORD LOUNGE CHAIRS, DESIGNED 1950, FOR CARL HANSEN & SON, ODENSE, DENMARK, CIRCA 1950-1955, each oak framed armchair with woven paper cord seat, stamped "67." Branded mark to both (one partial). In 1950 Danish architect and designer Hans Wegner began what would become a long term relationship with the furniture making firm of Carl Hansen & Son. The design for this elegant and comfortable armchair was one of the first that was jointly developed by Wegner and Hansen, and is part of a group of four initial designs that have become icons of Danish Modern design.
