SILVER PLATED HOT WATER URN WITH SPIRIT BURNER, SHEFFIELD, ENGLAND, CIRCA 1870, the shield shape urn with beaded border to the neck, rim, waisted lid surmounted by a ball finial, socle, and plinth, with engraved foliate scrolls centering shaped reserved cartouche below banded leaf border, with spreading socle base raised on plinth with four ball feet, modified "D" shape handles to the sides, turned ebonized wood handled spigot to the front, the plinth with recess for fitted spirit burner, marks: "C" within circle, "Bros.," "&S" conjoined, "EP," "2554," "A" in diamond, "16 PINT," "6." Height: 23 1/2" Width: 15" Depth: 12 3/8" Provenance: Estate of the late Charles A. and Betti F. Saunders, Houston, Texas.
