Here Is An Extremely Large Bust Of The Famous Indian Chief Sitting Bull. Sitting Bull (Lakota: Tè?Atè?ÃÃ¥?Ka Ãyotake) (In Standard Lakota Orthography[2]), Also Nicknamed Slon-He Or "Slow"; C. 1831 – December 15, 1890) Was A Hunkpapa Lakota Sioux Holy Man Who Led His People As A War Chief During Years Of Resistance To United States Government Policies. Sitting Bull Was Born Near The Grand River In What Is Now South Dakota. He Was Named Slon-He (Slow) As A Child. In Traditional Lakota Fashion, He Was Given One Of His Father'S Names, Tè?Atè?AÃ¥?Ka Iyotè?AÃ¥?Ka (Sitting Bull), After Strong Action In A War Party. He Led A Charge And Struck Before The Enemy Crow Party Could, Resulting In His People Being Unharmed. He Was 14. Here He Is Shown Looking Proud And Respectful Off Into The Distance. He Wears A Necklace Around His Neck, Which Looks Like The Teeth Or Claws Of An Animal. He Has Braided Hair That Falls To His Back And To His Shoulders. In His Braids He Has Very Beautifully Detailed Feathers. The Bust Is On A Pedestal Which Has Draping Wreaths On The Sides. His Facial Features Are Remarkable And Add To This Sculpture Ability To Take Your Breath Away. This Is An Extremely Large Piece And Has A Gorgeous Two Tone Brown Patina With Green. This Sculpture Was Cast Using The “Lost Wax Method†And Is 100% Bronze It Is Mounted On A Gorgeous Marble Base. It Is Handmade And Is Signed C.M. Russell. Charles Marion Russell (March 19, 1864, St. Louis, Missouri—October 24, 1926, Great Falls, Montana Also Known As C. M. Russell, Was An Artist Of The American West. Russell Created More Than 2,000 Paintings Of Cowboys, Indians, And Landscapes Set In The Western United States, In Addition To Bronze Sculptures. Known As 'The Cowboy Artist, Russell Was Also A Storyteller And Author. The C. M. Russell Museum Complex Located In Great Falls, Montana Houses More Than 2,000 Russell Artworks, Personal Objects, And Artifacts. Bronze Dimensions With Marble Base: Height 38 X Width 24 inches.
