1.) LARGE MID 19TH C. DUTCH BRASS STANDING COUNTER BALANCE SCALES:
Brass construction and eye balance mounted to well painter, faux marble base; Stamped: D. Rijsmus Azn. (Rotterdam), 10KG 32.5"h (with base) x 24"l x 10"d. 2.) CAST IRON FINIAL AND BASE WITH BRASS COLUMN COUNTERE BALANCE SCALE: Victorian, attributed to John White & Sons of Auchtermuchty, Fife, Scotland, c. 1910, 30.25"h.PROVENANCE: Frederic C. 'Fritz' Wallace (1904 - 2014, Germany, America) was born in Munich, Germany and immigrated to the United States in 1938 and served with the Army for three years in the 'European Theater of Operations' (ETO). He traveled extensively throughout the globe, collecting with an extremely educated focus and uncommon eye. Truly devoted to research for his collection, Mr. Wallace ensured that he purchased the rarest of interested items in only the best of condition. A fortunate Realtor and Developer, he lived in Sarasota, where he was a patron of the arts and served for many years on the Board of Directors at the historic Asolo Repertory Theatre.
