Original watercolor, Suprematist composition, attributed* to Ivan Vasilievitch Kliun (1873-1943). Signed twice, recto/verso and dated 1921. 9 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches. Framed.
Provenance:By descent to the former owner, whose family acquired the lot sometime in the 1970s from the family of Kaspar Wanner, the former owner's great grand uncle and son-in-law of Aleksey Kuropatkin (1848-1925). Kaspar Wanner presumably acquired the work directly from Ivan Kliun, while working as a teacher at the Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg, Russia.
