Scarce official report on the Asian multi-sport event considered to be a precursor to the Asian Games. The first such contest was held in Manila, in 1913, called the "First Oriental Olympic Games". Usually held every two years, but political issues caused a few to be delayed, and made participation sporadic. China, Philippines, Japan and India participated in the 1930 games, the only year India was in the competition.
